Meet Lanisha Cole, Nick Cannon Baby Mama

Lanisha Cole began dating Nick Cannon in early 2017 (shortly after the rapper’s divorce from singer/songwriter Mariah Carey). But shortly after that December, Lanisha announced their split via Instagram.

The model then continued to pursue a private dating life.

However, by 2022, Lanisha revealed that she was pregnant (but did not say who the father was). And it wasn’t until a few weeks before her daughter was born on September 14, 2022 that Lanisha revealed that Nick Cannon was the father.

On August 24, Nick also shared some pregnancy photos with Lanisha on his IG.

Anyway, now that Lanisha’s daughter Onyx Ice Cole Cannon is here, Nick is overjoyed. He says, “I vow to protect, provide for, guide, and love this child to the best of my ability.”

Likewise, Lanisha’s mother also shared that she felt blessed to welcome Onyx into this world. “The joy I felt as a mother is something that has forever opened my heart in a huge new way. I am obsessed with her! And you know there will be no shortage of pictures and videos,” she added.

But while the parents were delighted, online critics questioned Nick’s unconventional views on monogamy, to which the rapper responded, “I’m not easily provoked and I have pretty tough skin and I’ve always been an open book, but not everyone in my family has that level of toughness.”

Furthermore, Nick pleaded with people to direct all criticism and skepticism towards him and not “the loving and esteemed mothers of (his) children”.

And finally, Nick also praised Lanisha, saying that she was “the most innocent, peaceful, and non-confrontational soul he had ever witnessed.”
