League of Legends gameplay
In League of Legends, a game produced by Riot Games, you control a special character called a “Champion.” Each champion has unique powers. The goal is to work with your team to defeat the opposing team. The game takes place on a large map called Summoner’s Rift. You can gain experience points and gold coins by defeating enemies to make your champion stronger. Using gold coins, you can purchase items to help you in battle. There are three routes on the map where minions march toward the enemy’s base, guarded by turrets. Your team’s goal is to destroy the enemy team’s core base, their main base. Games can be short or long, depending on how things go.

In addition to Summoner’s Rift, there are other game modes such as ARAM (all random, all hits) and TFT. These offer different ways to play and have fun. League of Legends also offers temporary modes for special events, such as Ultra Rapid Fire (URF), where everything happens really fast. Overall, this is a game about strategy, teamwork, and having a good time with friends.
League of Legends Development
Before League of Legends launched, its founders Brandon Baker and Mark Merrill wanted to make a game similar to War of the Ancients (DotA). DotA, a mod for Warcraft III, lacked polish, so Beck and Merrill’s goal was to create a more polished, longer-lasting game. They recruited DotA expert Jeff Jew and others involved in DotA development. The early stages of development are like fine-tuning DotA.
