The story in “The Minicap” takes place before the events of “Four Swords” and “Four Swords Adventures” and explains how the Four Swords and the bad guy Vaati came to be. The game follows the style of previous Zelda games, particularly those with a top-down perspective such as Awakening. But it also brings new things, like Link having a magical talking hat named Ezro, who can make Link become as small as Minish.

What’s special about this game is the “minimum cap,” which allows Link to become very small through certain portals. This small size allows him to do things that his normal size cannot, such as using tiny portals or facing challenges that are too big for him.

In addition to the usual Zelda items like bombs and arrows, the minicap introduces three new items: the Mole Gloves (used for digging into walls), the Gust Canister (used for sucking up enemies and objects), and the Patch Cane (used with to turn things upside down). There’s also a cool feature where Link can duplicate himself in specific areas, even if the game is played alone. The idea came from the multiplayer game Four Swords.
