early life and education
Lennox Claudius Lewis CM CBE, born on September 2, 1965 in West Ham, London, England, is a former professional boxer. He is the son of Carlton Brooks and Violet Black and has a sibling named Dennis Lewis.
Lewis attended Cameron Highlands Academy High School, where he excelled in a variety of sports, including Canadian football, soccer and basketball.
In the 1982-83 school year, he helped the school’s AAA basketball team win the Ontario Provincial Championship. Ethnically, Lewis is of Jamaican descent and he practices Christianity.

Lennox Lewis was a dominant amateur boxer who won a gold medal at the 1983 Junior World Championships. He represented Canada in the super heavyweight competition at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and was ranked sixth in the world.
As a professional, Lewis won multiple regional heavyweight titles, including European, British and Commonwealth. In 1992, he defeated Donovan Ruddock to take the No. 1 spot in the WBC rankings.
