Early life and education
Olha Yuriivna Polykova was born on January 17, 1979 in Vinnytsia, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union. She is the daughter of Svitlana Polykova, a pediatrician who teaches at the diplomatic academy, and Hennadii Polykova, a musician. While her mother studied medicine, Polykova was raised primarily by her grandmother. Information about whether she has siblings is not public.
Polykova pursued an extensive education in music. After finishing secondary school, she obtained a piano degree and graduated with honors from the Vinnytsia School of Culture and Arts in choral conducting.
She continued her studies at Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts and Ukraine’s Petro Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music, where she trained as an opera singer. Polykova is ethnically Ukrainian and although her religion is not known to the general public.

Olya Polykova began her career at the age of 15, performing at the Bakhus (Bacchus) restaurant on Kyivska Street in Vinnytsia. In 2012, she participated in the Ukrainian national competition for the Eurovision Song Contest.
In 2017, she was invited by the Minister of Culture of Ukraine to sing for Viktor in the fourth season of the show. Tantsi z zirkamy (Ukrainian version Dancing with the stars), where she competed against nine other contestants. The following year, she appeared as a guest on season 5 of the show.
In February 2017, Polykova organized Svitske Zhytya (or Svitske Life), a popular show on Channel “1 + 1”, where she credited Yuriy Horbunov for helping her secure the hosting role. During the COVID-19 pandemic, in July 2020, she performed “White dance”in the first episode of Svitske Life. In April 2021, Polykova was interviewed by Kateryna Osadcha on the same program while on vacation in Türkiye.
In February 2018, Polykova was named the most beautiful woman of the year by Viva! Magazine. That year, she also founded the political party Blonde Party and became its president. In September 2019, she launched a clothing line called “Queen of the Night” with designer Andre Tan.
Despite the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, Polykova continued to tour. On January 27, 2023, she performed at Vokzalna metro station in Dnipro. In 2023, she collaborated with the Swedish band Army of Lovers on the song “Blue love.” After February 24, 2022, she also participated in the GIDNA project organized by the Future for Ukraine charity foundation.
