Leon Balogun (born 28 June 1988) is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays for the Nigeria national team and Rangers FC, a Scottish club.

Early life
Leon Balogun was born on June 28, 1988 in Berlin, West Germany. His father is Yoruba from Nigeria while his mother is German.
He was raised Roman Catholic.
Career
On 19 April 2009, Leon made his Bundesliga debut for Hannover 96, where the club played against Hamburger SV.
Since then, he has played for the following clubs: Fortuna Düsseldorf, Darmstadt 1998, Brighton & Hove Albian. He joined the latter club on 22 May 2020.
He signed a six-month loan deal with Wigan Athletic on 31 January 2020.
On 24 July 2020, he joined Scottish Club Rangers on a one-year contract.
He made his national team debut in March 2014. He was called up to replace Joseph Yobo. The match was a friendly between Nigeria and Cameroon.
He played his second match for Nigeria on 25 March 2020. A match between Nigeria and Uganda.
He was named in Nigeria’s 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in June 2018.
He was also included in the national team for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
He has made 32 appearances for the national team.
Personal life
Leon speaks English and German fluently. But he does not speak Yoruba, his father’s native language.
He is a Catholic and has never married. He also has no children.
