Just minutes before his death on November 25, former One Direction star Liam Payne was reportedly trying to escape his hotel room. At the age of 31, he fell from the balcony of the CasaSur Palermo hotel.
According to The Mirror, hotel staff were allegedly aware of Payne’s plan to escape via the balcony, according to witnesses and police reports, but they still left him alone in the room.
Sources familiar with the singer describe a long-standing aversion to being confined to hotel rooms, a problem he has had since his time with One Direction.
Payne is said to have tried to escape from the rental house he was staying at in Florida in September, when his security team allegedly locked him in the room fearing he might be using drugs , used a garden hose to get down from a bathtub. balcony.
Witnesses said Payne appeared drunk and disruptive in the hotel lobby on the day he died. Staff intervened but Payne resisted, telling them he would go out on the balcony if he was locked in the house.

Shortly after, a hotel employee called emergency services fearing for Payne’s safety because he was on a floor with a balcony.
Payne fell to his death while trying to escape from the balcony after being left alone. He was carrying a bag over his shoulder when they found his body, so it looked like he was about to leave.
A second-floor guest then discovered a leather medicine bag, a bottle of Jack Daniel’s whiskey and a note ‘for Liam’ on their balcony.
Investigators say it was part of Payne’s escape plan the night before, and he placed it there, despite evidence that he took it down using the same method that he used it for the first time with the faucet.
They have since ruled out suicide, speculating that the singer may have been “half or fully unconscious” when he fell. Authorities want to find out who supplied the drugs found in his body.
Rogelio “Roger” Nores – a friend of the singer – is under investigation but insists he has nothing to do with the singer’s death. He said he last saw Payne about 40 minutes before the plane crashed.
“I never abandoned Liam,” Nores said. “There were more than 15 people in the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left. I never could have imagined something like this would happen.”
Police are also questioning a hotel employee and a restaurant employee who had contact with Payne during his stay.
At the time of the fatal accident, Payne was outside the United States for the purpose of renewing his American visa in Argentina.
