According to Sky News on October 19, Payne’s father visited the CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires. Various online clips show Payne’s father reading emotional tributes to the late singer, admiring flowers in the area and taking kissing photos.

It was reported that he also greeted fans at the venue. Sources later said Mr Payne planned to travel to Argentina to retrieve his son’s body and bring him back to the UK.
Initially, Mr. Payne was also seen with British security and consular officials. He also went to the morgue to identify his son’s body before arranging for his son’s body to be taken to the local prosecutor’s office.
On-site press shared that Mr. Payne is also expected to pack up his son’s belongings.
Mr. Payne’s visit also generated reactions online. One netizen said: “That moment must have been extremely heartbreaking; it was a strong reminder of the love and loss his family suffered.”
The late singer’s relatives also issued a brief statement. Payne’s family shared that they are “heartbroken” by his untimely death and that he will always be in their hearts.
