Liam Payne’s second album ‘Completely on hold’ after surprise revelation about One Direction

Liam Payne fans will have to wait a little longer for new music from the former One Direction member.

According to a new source, his second album is on hold and is the latest blow to the singer’s career after a turbulent few weeks.

Sun reports that his second album was quietly put on ice, partly due to the album’s first single “Teardrops” underperforming after it was released in March of this year.

A friend told the outlet: “Things are very difficult for Liam at the moment.”

To make matters worse, Payne’s manager also backed down from the star earlier this year and since then, Payne has been “struggling without his guidance”.

“Things started to look a bit erratic, with plans being made before they were canceled at the last minute,” the friend said.

They added: “Liam has been doing great with his second album but now it’s completely on hold. Liam is telling everyone he doesn’t know if it will be released or not.”

Sun went on to report that in addition to his second album being shelved, a documentary about the singer was also planned.

It’s been a rough few weeks for the former boy band member. Earlier this week, his ex, Maya Henry, criticized Payne’s fans for claiming she was “obsessed” with him.

In her bombshell tell-all, she revealed that Payne was pushed up against a wall by former One Direction member Zayn Malik over a dispute they had while they were in the band together.

Neither artist has confirmed the news as reported, but it also comes as Payne was criticized online for his behavior at Niall Horan’s concert in Argentina. Video from social media shows Payne dancing and singing to a group of screaming fans underneath his private box at the show. Many believe this caused Horan’s performance to be dismissed as intentional attention-seeking behavior.

One person even went so far as to call Payne an “attention seeker”.

Payne spoke to Independence and shared the reason why he decided to come see Horan’s show.

“We’re going to Argentina. One, because we want to. Two, because we want to. And three, because Niall Horan is playing there and I think we can come and say ‘hello’,” he said.

“It’s been a while since Niall and I haven’t talked. We have a lot to talk about and I want to clear a few things up with the boy. There are no bad feelings or anything like that but we just need to talk stop,” Payne added.
