The NFL is reportedly exploring alternatives to replace Kendrick Lamar due to his ongoing legal battle with Drake.
Media Take Out claims that Lil Wayne could replace Kendrick during the Super Bowl LIX halftime show which will take place in New Orleans on February 9, 2025.
This comes as Drake’s legal team sent a cease-and-desist notice to the league, asking them to stop Kendrick from damaging his reputation during future performances.
An insider from the NFL also revealed that their legal department is currently in chaos.
Although details have yet to be confirmed, there is much speculation surrounding the selection of Lil Wayne or another artist to replace Kendrick.
It’s also important to note that no other major news outlet has reported that Lil Wayne is under consideration.
This comes amid news that Drake expressed concern about Kendrick potentially performing his diss song at the upcoming Super Bowl.
According to an insider who spoke to the Daily Mail, “Universal bosses are shocked that Drake sued them, and some suspect the lawsuit is an attempt to prevent Kendrick from performing ‘Not Like Us’ at the event .”
Another source familiar with the situation expressed that Kendrick was upset by the widespread assumption that his Super Bowl show would revolve around Drake.
This insider points out, “Everyone is trying to get Kendrick to do his Super Bowl performance about Drake.”
They continued, “He’s toyed with a few surprises, including asking Drake and Lil Wayne to participate. But he’s starting to rethink that and just turn the performance into something something just for him and him. He believes he deserves it and he doesn’t need to extend an olive branch to anyone.”
