Based on the video, Bono, whose real name is Paul David Hewson, received the award for Original Song – Motion Picture for “Ordinary Love” with his rock band U2. The song is the official soundtrack of the movie “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom”.
Diddy was the presenter along with Usher and Kate Beckinsale. While the presenters presented the trophy to the band, Diddy opened his arms to hug Bono and he also attempted to plant a kiss on the latter’s cheek, but Hewson dodged it.

Combs’ expression seemed to change after the awkward encounter
The resurfaced clip quickly attracted attention on the social media platform, with many users giving their two cents on Bono’s gesture.
“Diddy just wanted a warm welcome but Bono gave him the cold shoulder.” [laugh emoji]”, one person quipped.
Another user commented: “Diddy tried to kiss Bono and got a cold shoulder, so awkward!”
Another said: “So awkward,” while another commenter said: “Looks like Bono knew.”

However, according to a source who spoke to RadarOnline after the video resurfaced, the rock band singer was unaware of Combs’ alleged misconduct at the time.
“There is no way he knew about the extent of his depravity or he would have spoken out, but there is no way Bono would have let him near him, even 10 years ago,” the source said.[Bono] I still shudder thinking about it.”
Meanwhile, despite their awkward onstage encounter, Bono and Diddy still posed for the cameras at the Golden Globes after-party in Los Angeles later that night, according to Us Weekly.
The resurfaced footage comes amid legal issues targeting the disgraced music producer, including allegations of sex trafficking and fraud.
