Lim Kok Wing (1 May 1945 – 1 June 2021) was a Malaysian businessman, philanthropist, educator and illustrator. He was Limkokwing University of Creative Technology first president. He was married to Puan Sri Cecilia before his death.

Early life
Lim Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1945. He attended Methodist Boys School before moving on Cochrane Road Secondary School.
Career
Lim establish Wings Creative Consulting in 1975 at the age of 29. He founded Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Cyberjaya in 1992. He is also the chairman of the organization. Lim spoke before the country’s parliament in July 2007, after its founding. Limkokwing University Botswana. Limkokwing University London was founded in the same year.
Limkokwing University of Creative Technology commissioned a billboard image Lim EQUAL “King of Africa,” escorted by a cheetah and accompanied by African students in June 2020; it was withdrawn after receiving negative feedback online.
Death
Lim passed away on 1 June 2021, aged 75. He had been admitted to hospital a week earlier after collapsing at home. Malaysians mourned his death, describing him as “one of the most prominent figures in the field of higher education”. At the same time, UNESCO Institute for Information Technology in Education (IITE) call Lim “a great figure in the field of education and philanthropy.” Mahathir Mohamad described Lim as “a passionate supporter of Malaysia’s vision” and “who changed the lives of many people” by Najib Razak.
Awards and appointments
Lim has won many awards for his generosity and entrepreneurial spirit. Malaysia Canada Business Council recognize him as CEO of the year in 2006. Moscow Academy of State and Municipal Management appointed him honorary professor in 2007.
