Early life and education
Famous actress Manisha Koirala was born in Kathmandu, Nepal on 16 August 1970. She comes from a family with a strong political background. She was raised by her parents Prakash Koirala and Sushma Koirala.
Her grandfather, Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, was the Prime Minister of Nepal in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Her great uncles, Girija Prasad Koirala and Matrika Prasad Koirala, also served as Prime Ministers of Nepal. She grew up with her sibling Siddhartha Koirala.
While growing up, Koirala lived in India, specifically in Varanasi, where she spent a considerable amount of time at her maternal grandmother’s home.

Personal life
After marrying Samrat Dahal, a successful Nepali businessman, Koirala’s marriage lasted from 2010 to 2012. Unfortunately, in 2012, her life took an unexpected turn when she received the devastating news that she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
However, with sheer determination and strict medical care, she overcame this horrible disease and went into remission.
In a recent interview, Koirala said she is happy with her current life and confidently stated that she does not want to get married again. She also mentioned that while she is open to motherhood, she is not in a rush to pursue it.
