Early life and education
Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan was born on 20 November 1970 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi.
He was one of 30 siblings, growing up in a large and influential family. Mansour attended Santa Barbara City College and graduated from United Arab Emirates University.
Career
In 1997, Sheikh Mansour was appointed chairman of the president’s office, at which time his father, Sheikh Zayed, was president of the UAE.
After his father’s death, he was appointed by his eldest half-brother, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as the First Minister of Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, after the office of the president and the presidential court were merged.
He also held various positions in Abu Dhabi to support his brother, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who was still Crown Prince at the time.
Sheikh Mansour has held many senior positions since the beginning of the 21st century. He is chairman of the Ministerial Council for Services, the National Center for Documentation and Research, and the Abu Dhabi Judiciary.
He also served as minister of presidential affairs, vice chairman of the Abu Dhabi Education Council and chairman of several organisations such as the Emirates Foundation, the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority and the Abu Dhabi Development Fund.
