Marcie Hobbs was born on December 21, 1984 in Los Angeles, California, to Nan Hobbs Barganier and Dexter Cummings. Dexter Cummings Hobbs, Marcie’s father, died in 1990.
Marcie Hobbs has one sibling and one half-sibling. Hobbs has an older brother, Dexter Hobbs, a half-brother, Jay Barganier, and a cousin, Shep Rose, an actor on the television show Southern Charm.
She attended high school in Montgomery and graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Studies.
Career
Marcie Hobbs worked as an admissions counselor and secretarial assistant at the New York Film Academy in Manhattan, New York. She moved to Los Angeles to try her luck in the entertainment industry.
But things didn’t work out for her professionally. Instead, she became a real estate agent in Los Angeles in 2012 and worked there until 2017. Previously, she worked as an events coordinator for The Boulevard Company (Realtor).
She has also worked at RentCharleston (Property Management), as well as in public relations and marketing. Hobbs moved to Charleston in 2017 to start her own company, MBHobbs Properties LLC.
Marcie was invited to join the cast of Southern Charm for Season 8 in 2022. Season 8 of Southern Charm premiered in 2020, starring Olivia Flowers and Chleb Ravenell. The reality show focuses on the lives of the upper class in Charleston.
