Mariah Carey fans are singing the blues as the superstar has canceled two more shows on her Christmas tour.
On her Twitter account on December 13, Carey announced that she was canceling her stops in Newark and Belmont. Carey has been battling the flu, leading to the cancellation of her Pittsburgh show earlier this week, and she shared that she is still fighting the illness.
“Newark and Belmont – I wish I had better news but unfortunately I’m still sick and had to cancel my shows tonight and Sunday. I’m really sad about it and appreciate your support . Love MC,” she said.

On December 11, Carey canceled her performance in Pittsburgh. She came down with the flu while on tour and she saw an outpouring of love from her fans as they wished her a speedy recovery.
One fan commented: “I know you’re looking forward to the show, but sometimes things happen.”
“Just remember, you love your fans and they love you,” another person shared at the time.
The cancellation of Carey’s tour comes after the singer’s landmark Christmas single, “All I want For Christmas Is You,” reached 2 billion streams on Spotify.
“This is unbelievable. I’m so honored that ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ became the first holiday song on Spotify to reach 2 billion streams! I’m so grateful to everyone Spotify listeners around the world have made the song part of their holiday traditions year after year,” Carey told Everybody about achievements.
The outlet reported that “All I Want” is the most-streamed Christmas song of all time, both in the United States and worldwide.
The song was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2021 and has since gone 16x Platinum with sales equivalent to 16,000,000 copies in the United States. It became the highest certified solo female song of all time in the country. Carey’s total single sales currently stand at 74 million copies in the United States.
“All I Want For Christmas Is You” recently returned to the top of the charts Billboard Hot 100 chart for a record-breaking 15th week, also becoming the longest-running female solo song on the chart of all time.
In April 2023, the song was entered into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress.
