Masechaba Khumalo was born on September 10, 1983. She was born in Zambia and later returned to South Africa.
Her parents received military training in the former Soviet Union, and she lived in Zambia for five years, being raised by her grandmother.
When Mashechaba Kumalo was about six years old, she moved to the United States to live with a relative. Her childhood was filled with fear and pain. While living in the United States, she was molested by a relative who lived with her.
After living in the United States for 12 years, Masetshaba Kumalo returned to South Africa, where she began to develop an interest in the dramatic arts.
