Meet Grant Feely, the Child Actor Who Played Young Luke Skywalker in Disney’s Obi-Wan Kenobi
Grant is a child actor who made his small screen debut in 2022 as a 10-year-old Luke Skywalker in the Disney Plus series Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, the role wasn’t entirely his. The child actor (who remains anonymous) had to step down because the creative team went in a “different direction.”
It seems directors Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau were concerned that Obi-Wan Kenobi’s story was too similar to Mando and Baby Yoda’s, so they made some significant changes and also hired screenwriter Joby Harold.
As for how much of the original story was retained in the adaptation, director Deborah Chow shared that they “inherited some of the story, but (they) made some significant changes and added a few different elements.”
Production on Obi-Wan Kenobi was reportedly halted in January 2020 to reshoot the series.
So after 2 years of waiting, the show is ready to premiere on Disney+ on May 25, 2022.
