Taylor Fagins was one of the contestants on the 20th season of ABC’s American Idol in 2022. He came on the show with his original song “We Need More.” The song is about the deaths of black people like Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor.
Taylor’s performance moved all three judges and gave him his golden ticket to Hollywood. He wrote the song in mid-2020 during the pandemic, three days after George Floyd died. Taylor felt the need to say something about this unfortunate event and as a singer/songwriter, he used his artistic talent as a means to express his feelings.
