Meet David Jessop, Robyn Brown Ex
David Jessop and Robyn Brown were married on June 8, 1999, when the bride was 22 years old, according to Ravalli Republic NewspaperShe opened up about her experiences with her first marriage in an April 2021 episode. She said in the episode, “I’ve been married before, and in that marriage, there were a lot of fights and heartaches.”
“I made a promise to myself when I got out of my divorce, I said to myself, ‘If I ever get married again, I’m going to be more cautious and careful.’” Robyn also compared her current marriage to her current husband Kody. “Let’s just say I rarely argue with him,” Robyn explained in her confessional. “I can probably name five real arguments in the last 10, 11 years that we’ve been together. Maybe five real arguments. Maybe not even that.”
The marriage lasted eight years, and they had three children together, Dayton, Aurora, and Breanna, during that time. “To be clear, I do not condone bullying of my children,” she tweeted at the time of the episode. “I ended my first marriage because of abuse. My children ALWAYS come first.”
Robyn said that throughout her marriage, she suffered various forms of abuse; financial abuse (putting her in debt, not buying a crib, not providing child support), emotional abuse, and even sexual and physical abuse.
Robyn also accused her husband of not seeing their children or paying child support. She explained the reasons for their divorce in the Brown family’s memoir, Becoming Sister Wives- The Story of an Unconventional Marriage.
“I tried my best to make the marriage work, for our own sake and for the sake of the three children my ex-husband and I had together. But what started as unstable disintegrated into something destructive. After seven and a half years of marriage, we separated. A year and a half later, we were divorced,” Robyn wrote. “Both my marriage and its demise were incredibly difficult for me. I endured a lot of pain and hardship. I was treated badly and cheated on by my ex-husband. Even though I knew he was the source of so much of my pain, part of me still believed that I was a failure because I couldn’t make the relationship work.”
After her divorce, Robyn met Kody Brown at a church dance and they began dating. Kody and Robyn were spiritually married on May 22, 2010. Meri Brown later approved Kody’s divorce so that he could officially marry Robyn and then seek to adopt Robyn’s children. Kody and Robyn were legally married on December 11, 2014.
