Meet Drew Longley, Ilaura Reeves’ husband in Gold Rush!

Ilaura Reeves has been working with her husband, Drew Longley, for over 10 years. And when she finally made it to Gold Rush season 13—all thanks to her father, John Reeves—Ilaura didn’t leave Drew behind. Together, the duo helped the old man find gold in the dirt.

So, who is Drew Longley? Find out more about Ilaura’s husband as this article continues.

Meet Drew Longley, Husband of Gold Rush Star Ilaura Reeves

Drew Longley and Ilaura Reeves have been digging for a decade. Falling in love, thanks to their profession, the couple married on November 18, 2017.

The couple are also the stars of the YouTube channel Gold Daughters, where Ilaura follows Drew around “The Boneyard Alaska” to explore Ice Age fossils and gold mines. They call the mining area “The Boneyard” because of the density of bones scattered in an area about half the size of a football field.

The Alaska Boneyard is located in a patented gold mine and all the bones they find are added to their private collection. Their family owns the property and does not want to sell any of the bones.

“This site is entirely a product of our family’s passion for finding Ice Age bones. We are currently collecting them. The bones not only have monetary value but also scientific value that can help understand the extinction of large animals during the Ice Age,” the duo explained.

Over the past 15 years, they admit to searching an area half the size of a football field.

Ilaura, however, is more creative with Gold Daughters, working more on marketing and spending more time shooting/editing/posting photos and videos than actually digging.

Children of Ilaura Reeves and Drew Longley

Drew Longley and Ilaura Reeves may have been married for five years, but they have no children together. The couple may be collecting as much gold and bone as they can before moving on to the next phase of their lives.

Drew Longley was 34 years old when he first appeared in Gold Rush in 2022.

He is 4 years older than his wife Ilaura.

Drew Longley’s work

Drew Longley began his career as a baseball player at Sickles High School. There, as a senior, he batted .320 and had a .992 fielding percentage, and even won Gold Glove awards in 2007 and 2006.

In 2008, he used the “red shirt season”.

And the following year, Drew started in 11 games and played in 17 games with a .333 batting record and 12 hits.

In 2010, Drew then played in 25 games, starting 13 as a catcher. His record at the time was .204 batting average in limited action with an impressive .397 on-base percentage.

In 2011, the athlete emerged as the Bulls’ everyday catcher, starting at that position more than 40 times. Playing in 47 total games, he batted .234 with four home runs and three doubles while recording 20 RBIs.

In 2012, he continued to play for the Bulls — appearing in 52 games, in which he collected nine doubles and 19 RBIs. He also finished the season second in scoring behind teammate Daniel Rockhold.

He was then assigned to the Toledo Mud Hens from the Lakeland Flying Tigers on July 29, 2016, to the Lakeland Flying Tigers from the Toledo Mud Hens on August 4, 2016, to the Erie SeaWolves from the Lakeland Flying Tigers on September 1, 2016, to the Detroit Tigers on March 18, 2017, to the West Michigan Whitecaps from the Erie SeaWolves on April 1, 2017, to the West Michigan Whitecaps from the Erie SeaWolves on April 1, 2017, to the Detroit Tigers on February 25, 2018, and to the Erie SeaWolves from the West Michigan Whitecaps on March 31, 2018.

Drew then retired and began working with his wife at Gold Daughters.

Gold Daughters was founded in 2014 by Drew’s wife and sister with just a small window to greet customers and sell t-shirts and, of course, cupcakes. And now the company has grown enough to host multiple tours for customers who want to visit an authentic gold mine museum and be a part of Alaska Gold Rush History.

“We want to make sure they have a good time so we do our best to make sure everyone feels special and listen to them share about their trip,” says Ilaura.

They also ensure that visitors find gold and have a relaxing and welcoming time during their visit. Since gold panning can be a strenuous activity with all day squatting on the riverbank, Gold Daughters also provides amenities, such as lounge chairs, to make it as enjoyable as possible.
