Meet Judy Malinowski Daughters: Kaylyn and Madison Malinowski!

Judy Malinowski was burned alive by her ex-boyfriend Michael Slager during an argument on August 2, 2015. But she survived for months only to testify in her own murder trial via video—which was truly heartbreaking to watch. Now, her daughters are hoping to expand the law named after her mother and have set up a fund!

So who are they? Scroll down to find out.

Who is Judy Malinowski’s daughter?

Judy Malinowski had two daughters named Kaylyn and Madison Malinowski. They were referred to as “heart colors” in Judy’s obituary published by Egan Ryan.

Following Judy’s tragic death, Kaylyn and Madison established a foundation in their mother’s name to support individuals and families who are suffering from domestic violence, drug abuse, and human trafficking. The Judy Foundation not only provides support and resources for victims and their families, but also hopes to gain national awareness through social media resources such as books, workshops, videos, and documentaries. “At the Judy Foundation, we want to promote healing and rebuilding within the natural family,” they write.

What’s more, the Malinowskis have gone out of their way to help others like themselves cope with their grief. They say the best thing they can do is have someone to talk to. They want other kids to not feel alone.

“I think we’re going to get through this eventually and that’s something we can really look up to, like her legacy,” Madison said. “When people look at you, they’re like, ‘Hey, that girl must be so strong like her mom.’”

Meet Kaylyn Malinowski, Judy Malinowski, eldest daughter

Kaylyn Malinowski is Judy Malinowski’s eldest daughter. Many of us remember her from when she testified before state lawmakers at the Ohio Statehouse to pass Judy’s Law in 2017.

“Since my mother cannot speak, I am here to speak for her,” she said at the time. “While he was sentenced to 11 years in prison, my mother, my sister and I were all sentenced to life in prison. It has ruined my life, my family’s life, my children’s life and the lives of everyone around us, and the law of justice is not fair.”

Thankfully, her plea was heard and Judy’s law was applied.

Now, she hopes to expand the law. Instead of six years, she wants to add nine years to the sentence, and she wants it to apply to more than just attackers who use drugs.

“I think if there were more laws like this that were more widely applied, people would feel more comfortable reporting things,” she explained.

Kaylyn Malinowski was born on March 12, 2004. That means she is 19 years old in 2023.

Additionally, this means she was only 12 years old when Judy’s law was passed.

Kaylyn Malinowski is a future criminal justice attorney. She is a sophomore majoring in Criminal Justice and Political Science at Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2023.

She is scheduled to graduate from Saint Francis DeSales High School in Columbus, OH, in 2022.

In addition to her studies, Kaylyn is a Student Ambassador and Basketball Cheerleader at Franciscan University. Additionally, while in high school, she was a student leader.

Her life motto is to always fight for justice. “My mother taught me that you can fight with anyone,” Kaylynn commented.

Interesting Facts: Kaylyn received the “Serra Club Altar Server Award” from her church Saint Joseph Cathedral in May 2018.
