Speaking to PEOPLE in 2020, Tom shared that he and his wife felt they wanted to do this not just for their son, but for parents who are going through this so they don’t feel as alone as they did before. You have to trust each other and trust the journey and wait for the right things to happen eventually, not overnight, he added. And speaking specifically about his son and his specific autism, he described how his young son amazes him every day. The loving father added that his son’s brain just works differently.

Furthermore, Laura and Tom’s youngest daughter, Truly Rose Hopper, was born later on July 6, 2018.
