Transparent tells the story of Dr. Bashir Hamed, a Syrian Civil War refugee and talented physician who fled his country with his sister Amira to pursue a new start in Canada. This Canadian medical drama takes us through the obstacles Dr. Bashir Ahmed, aka Bash, must overcome to continue his medical career at York Memorial Hospital in Toronto.

Nora was introduced to the Transplant audience in the Season 1 finale. As Bashir and Amira were leaving, the audience saw a woman standing at the front desk of the hospital. Recognizing the woman, Amira ran up to her and screamed into her arms. Bashir just looked at her and said, “I thought you were dead.” The audience later learned that the mystery woman’s name was Rania.

Since Bashir had not seen or heard from Rania since fleeing Syria, seeing her standing there was a moment of shock for him. Things quickly escalated when Rania told Bash that she knew where he and his sister Amira had been all this time.

According to E-News, Rania was Bashira’s fiancee and Bash left her in Syria after he fled to Canada with his sister Amira.

Rania only announced her role in Transplant on January 3, 2022 via her Instagram account.
