Former Spice Girl Mel B is now less fond of her bandmates, publicly calling them “heads” for refusing to reunite for their 30th anniversary tour.
Explosive comments appeared when Mel B, 49 years old, appeared on the Sky Max show Never mind the Buzzcocks. The singer revealed she was kicked out of a WhatsApp group chat with Geri Halliwell, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham after relentlessly pushing for another tour. “I’m a Northerner and say what I think and feel, and I constantly tell the girls, ‘We need to get back on tour,'” she explains. It’s been many years since the world has seen the Spice Girls stand on the same stage. All five members closed the 2012 London Olympics ceremony and reunion performance together in 2019, returning to living their individual lives since then. Beckham celebrated her son’s wedding with husband David Beckham, while Chisholm continued to perform solo music on stages around the globe. Halliwell is a supportive wife to her race car driver husband Christian Horner, while Emma Bunton continues to make holiday music. Meanwhile, Mel B appeared on several reality shows and talk shows in hopes of keeping the Spice Girls shining.
Since the band was formed in 1994, 2024 will mark their 30th anniversary, but it seems only Scary Spice is interested in taking advantage of the opportunity. When Beckham was asked about the anniversary earlier this year in an interview on Radio France, she said: “It would be nice if we did something to celebrate, a dinner or a lunch, but it won’t be.” more.”
Meanwhile, Mel B continued to give “hints” about the Spice Girls’ upcoming projects, even teasing the possibility of a comeback at the Glastonbury Festival. While this may no longer be the case, Scary Spice noted that she’s simply excited that they all still get it, adding, “The reality is that we all Still healthy and living life and all still talking.
