Nicole’s father, David Bloom, died from complications of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) at the age of 39 on April 5, 2003. He was a reporter for NBC and was working at the time, reporting on war in Iraq.

David is known as an energetic and talented reporter whose battlefield radio programs give millions of soldiers a glimpse of war.
