Mercy Nnenda Chinwo-Uzochikwa (born 5 September 1990), known professionally as Mercy Chinwo, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress. She was eight years old when she started singing for her church choir.

Early life
Mercy Chinwo, real name Mercy Nnenda Chinwo, was born on September 5, 1990. Her mother’s name is Eno Jerry, while her father’s name is unknown, but she has a stepfather named Jerry Eze.
She has not given much information about her father. However, she is the first daughter and the fourth child. This Nigerian singer was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers, Nigeria. Mercy Chinwo is a native of Rivers State, Nigeria.

Mercy Chinwo’s father died when she was young, but she has not revealed her father’s identity. She takes her music seriously because as the first daughter, she had to take care of herself and her younger siblings.
Career
At the age of eight, Mercy Chinwo began her musical career in church as a member of the church youth choir. When she joined the adult choir, she became the choir’s music director.
In addition to this growth, she has also contributed her musical talents to big names in gospel music such as Sammie Okposo, Chris Morgan and many others.
As her interest in music grew, she began participating in music competitions until she discovered Nigerian Idol. She won the second season of the Nigerian talent show, which catapulted her to fame.
She debuted in 2015 with the song Testimony, followed by Igwe (2016). The Cross: My Gaze, Mercy Chinwo’s debut studio album, was released on February 20, 2018.
EeZee Conceptz released a 16-track contemporary gospel album through Dixtrit Media. Shady B, Fiokee, Chris Morgan, and Olaitan Odoko all appeared on it. She’s continued to release uplifting worship tunes ever since.
