Director Michael Adeniyi Agbolade Ishola Adenuga Jr CSG GCON (born 29 April 1953) is an influential Nigerian businessman known professionally as Mike Adenuga.

He is a billionaire and the third richest person in Africa after Egypt’s Nassef Sawiris and Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote.

He is the founder of a telecommunications company called Globacom, which is the second largest telecommunications operator in Nigeria and has a presence in other West African countries such as Ghana and Benin Republic.

Mike Adenuga did his secondary education at Ibadan Grammar School, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria and attended Comprehensive Secondary School, Aiyetoro, for his Higher School Certificate (HSC). At that time, he worked as a taxi driver to pay for college.

Mike Adenuga earned his first million in 1979, at age 26, selling lace and distributing soft drinks. In 1990, he was granted a drilling license. In 1991, Consolidated Oil exploited oil in the shallow waters of southwestern Ondo State, becoming the first indigenous oil company to do so in commercial quantities.

Furthermore, he was granted a conditional GSM license in 1999, although it was revoked. However, he received a second award when the government held another auction in 2003.
