Miley Cyrus defends Chappell Roan and shows why her rise to fame is even harder

Miley Cyrus is looking for a new generation of artists.

The singer is no stranger to the spotlight and the price of fame that comes with it. That includes the wave of criticism she has received throughout her career. Now, she wants to make sure that doesn’t happen to upcoming artists, specifically Chappell Roan.

Talking to Harper’s Market In a candid interview, Cyrus asked people to sympathize with Roan instead of criticizing her actions.

“I wish people wouldn’t give her a hard time,” Cyrus said. “Maybe it’s hard to get into this business with phones and Instagram. That hasn’t always been a part of my life and fame.” .

Roan has been the subject of a wave of online hate since rising to fame last year thanks to her album, The rise and fall of a Midwestern princessas well as her Grammy-nominated single, “Good Luck, Babe!”

Roan was also the subject of criticism during the presidential election season due to controversial comments she made which she later clarified, noting that she would not vote for Donald Trump.

Elsewhere, people were unhappy with the way Roan handled a situation on the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet where she seemingly told a reporter to “shut up”. However, it is still unclear what caused the fight.

Roan has spoken out about the price of fame and how it has affected her over the past year, where she likened it to an abusive ex.

“The feeling of this — stalking, talking s— online, [people who] won’t leave you alone, yell at you in public – that’s what an abusive ex-husband feels like,” says Roan face.

Roan also canceled an appearance at All Things Go due to her mental health and how fame has affected it.

Cyrus wasn’t the only singer to come to Roan’s defense as Mariah Carey also came to her defense.

“Well, I’ve been through dramas and it’s not fun at all because when you grow up you think, ‘I want to be famous’. I mean, really for me, it’s always been ‘I want to be a singer. I want to write songs.’ But ‘I want to be famous’ also comes with it. I feel like maybe it’s because I don’t feel like I’m good enough because of the things I went through growing up feel, you know?” Carey told Related press.

“But my advice is to do your best to go into this industry with a love for your talent or something that’s really meaningful to you. You know, if it’s like, ‘I want famous. I want to run around with those people, whoever they are, famous people’ which is probably not the best idea,” she added.
