Miley has spoken out about her relationship with her father over the past few days despite their tumultuous history.

In an interview with David Letterman, Miley opened up about her family and childhood. Specifically, she revealed that she “inherited her narcissism” from Billy Ray, talking about their shared narcissistic traits.

“I also inherited my father’s narcissism,” she shared. “I didn’t know anything about my siblings except for the part I was doing. … I moved to LA, and that’s all I really knew.”

Despite the obvious negatives, Miley also spoke about her father’s positive qualities. Miley talks about her father’s humility and practical abilities.

“He also has a relationship and has his feet on the ground with nature and reality,” she told Letterman of her relationship. And he always does, even when he’s super famous.” “And my childhood – I mean, we can talk about the hard times or the hard times – but I had food, I had love, I grew up in a big beautiful house and my dad I don’t have that.”

Despite the silent drama surrounding the Cyrus family, Miley credits her father with guiding her.

“My dad — I was so grateful to be able to watch him ahead of me,” she elaborated. “He kind of gave me this map. There was a map of what to do and what not to do. And he guided me through both.”

When asked what had a bigger impact on his life, Miley didn’t want to express her preferences and said her parents “can’t weigh on the same scale.”
