Early life and education
Ming Bridges was born on 5 November 1992 in Australia to a British father and a Singaporean mother. After she was born in Australia, her parents moved from Australia to Singapore when she was six months old. She has an older sister named Bianca Bridges.
She lived in Singapore for sixteen years. She attended secondary school at Tanglin Trust School before leaving Singapore for England at the age of 17.
While living in the UK, Ming Bridges received a performing arts scholarship to study at Wellington College. At Wellington College, she completed her International Baccalaureate Diploma in 2011.
Ming Bridges also studied Business Management at King’s College in London. She soon decided to drop out to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Ming Bridges won the Teenage Icon singing competition organised by Teenage magazine in 2006 at the age of 13. She played the main character, Roxy, in the 2008 children’s detective film REM: The Next Generation, which aired in Singapore on Okto’s Kids Central channel.
She won the Best Children’s Programme award at the Asian Television Awards for her role. She then played Christine in the television series Red Thread on MediaCorp’s Channel 5 that same year.

After sending a demo of the song I Want You Back to directors Luqman Taufeek and Fahim Fazli, she was hired by Funkie Monkies Productions in 2011.
