Misuzulu Sinqobile kaZwelithini (born 23 September 1974), known professionally as Misuzulu Zulu, is a traditional ruler, prominent monarch and current King of the Zulu people.
He is the sole heir of King Goodwill Zwelithini and Queen Mantfombi Dlamini.
Misuzulu Zulu is said to have become King after his father died on 12 March 2021. Three months after his father’s death, Misuzulu Zulu was legally appointed as the new Zulu King.

Early life
Misuzulu Zulu was born on 23 September 1974. He was born and raised in KwaHlabisa, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Misuzulu Zulu is the eldest son of his parents.
He was born into royalty as the son of the late King Goodwill Zwelithini and his mother was a queen known as Queen Mantfombi MaDlamini Zulu. Misuzulu Zulu’s mother was often referred to as “The Great Wife”. The late King Goodwill Zwelithini was survived by 6 wives and 26 children. Some of his siblings are Lethukuthula Zulu, Phumuzuzulu, Ntandoyesizwe Zulu, Nandi Zulu, Nombuso Zulu, Sibusile Zulu, Shlobosenkosi Zulu, Ntombizosuthu Ka Zwelithini Duma, Sinethemba Bati Zulu and Ntandoyenkosi Kazwelithini Ngcaweni.
Education
Misuzulu Zulu attended Jacksonville University, Florida in the United States. He received his early education in Eswatini, his mother’s homeland, and later attended St. Charles College in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
Personal life
On 12 March 2021, Misuzulu Zulu lost his beloved father to the disease caused by the coronavirus. King Goodwill Zwelithini, Misuzulu Zulu’s father, passed away in hospital at the age of 72.
He died of Covid19 related illness, the late king was also a diabetic. Misuzulu Zulu’s father ruled the Zulu Kingdom for over 50 years until his death. He was the longest reigning king of the Zulu people.
In August 2009, Misuzulu Zulu met his wife, who is simply known as Ntokozo Mayisela, at the Durban Botanical Gardens.
King Misuzulu Zulu then sent a delegation to Ntokozo Mayisela’s estate to negotiate and pay the lobola according to Zulu marriage customs. Eight cows and fifty thousand South African Rand were supposed to be included in the lobola. He did not marry a second wife except his first and only wife.
