While in Japan, Stefanie Joosten met with several modeling agencies looking for Western models. She began modeling in 2011. She received a call from a mysterious agent looking for models to work with an unnamed video game after doing some acting and small commercials.
She became suspicious when she recognized one of the people during the audition. She had been a fan of Japanese games since she was a child. She eventually learned that the mysterious caller was Hideo Kojima, a famous video game developer.
Hideo Kojima was the one who explained the whole idea of the audition to her. Stefanie Joosten was chosen as the visual and voice model for Quiet, a central female character in the Metal Gear game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
