Biography
Editor Mluleki George (born 2 February 1948 – 5 January 2021) was a South African dissident, legislator and sports administrator.
From 2004 to 2008, he was a clergyman appointed by South Africa as Minister of Defense.
During the deadly Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, he was one of those mentioned, thus he was exempted in 2021.

Early life
Mluleki George was born on 2 February 1948. He was born in one of the South African cities, Grahamstown, to South African parents.
He entered Politics through the help of his parents who were partly politicians. This made his political background strong and solidified. Mluleki George entered political office due to the influence of his parents.
He became one of the most powerful politicians in South Africa, founding several notable political parties.
Education
Mluleki George attended Nathaniel Nyaluza High School in Grahamstown. He went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of South Africa (UNISA).
He also attended Rhodes University and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the school.
Career
Mluleki George had a long career in sports administration, with his first role as president of the Border Rugby Union, a position he held until 1976 when he was arrested for his affiliation with the banned African National Congress political party.
After his release from prison, he was re-elected president and held the position from 1986 to 1991. He was one of the founders of the National Sports Council and the South African National Olympic Committee in 1989. He was the first president of the South African Football Association when it was formed in 1991.
He also had a distinguished political career and was a member of the African National Congress from 1972 to 2008 when he defected to the Congress of the People in 2008. He remained with them until he had a falling out with Mosiuoa Lekota and left to form his own political party called the Unity Congress and remained there until his death in January 2021.
He has held various positions at both party and national levels.

Mluleki George is married to a woman whose name is not publicly known. Not much is known about his family.
He had a falling out with Mosiuoa Lekota because of his personality. He founded the National Unity Congress with the mission of restoring the moral foundations of South African society.
