Who are con artist Danielle Miller’s parents?
Danielle Miller, a self-confessed scammer, was sentenced to five years in prison on Thursday for using stolen identities to take out $1.2 million in Covid-19-related loans. She was notorious for using the money to rent an apartment and charter a private jet, among other things, according to NBC.
Prosecutors said in a statement that she stole money from people in need to gain power in “an attempt to gain fleeting social media fame.” Danielle was sentenced to prison in a federal court in Boston, as well as three years of probation and restitution that has yet to be determined.
Danielle pleaded guilty in March to two counts of aggravated identity theft and three counts of wire fraud in connection with a scam she perpetrated from the summer of 2020 to May 2021. Prosecutors allege that Danielle Miller used the identities of more than a dozen different people—some of which were obtained from the Massachusetts RMV website—to create fake licenses, bank accounts, and businesses. Using programs such as the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program and Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, among others, she then used those programs to steal government funds.
Danielle also used fake IDs, which not only contained her photo but also the names of her victims, to pay for lavish shopping sprees. For example, she allegedly used her Massachusetts residency permit to book a private flight from Florida to California in August 2020. Upon arrival, she booked a hotel room under the same identity. She once rented a lavish home in Florida using someone else’s identity. She continued to promote her lifestyle to her 34,000 Instagram followers.
