Who are Lucy Letby’s parents?

Lucy is only the fourth female killer in British criminal history to receive a life sentence, but unlike murderers such as Myra Hindley and Rose West, there is little evidence that Letby had a hard.

They were not present at the announcement of the verdict last Friday, and they were also absent this morning when she was given a life order during the sentencing hearing. Mr and Mrs Letby left their home in Hereford and moved to Manchester to hear all the evidence against their daughter.

Lucy Letby, 33, is famous for being a serial killer nurse who received an extremely rare life sentence for the “brutal” murder of seven children. The parents of Letby’s infant victims have revealed the horrific consequences of her murder while she remained locked in a court cell, making her a dangerous serial child killer best in England. Manchester Crown Court was told that some of her surviving victims were left incapacitated and this had changed their lives.

Letby’s actions were described by judge James Justice Goss KC as a “cruel, calculated and cynical campaign of child murder involving the youngest and most vulnerable children”.

There is nothing to suggest that Mr. and Mrs. Letby were anything other than loving parents, who showered Lucy with affection from the moment of her birth, which occurred five months after their marriage in July 1989. They raised Lucy as an only child in a 1930s semi-detached house on a cul-de-sac.

Growing up, Letby was the joy of her parents, neighbors recalled. Lucy Letby’s childhood was as normal as any other child, raised by her parents with love. She had a part-time job at WH Smith in the city and her parents were extremely proud when she became the first in her family to go to university.

Lucy told a doctor friend who was considering moving to New Zealand that she could never do it because it would ‘absolutely devastate’ them. “It’s hard being away from me right now and only 100 miles away,” she said.

She wrote this to another acquaintance in a text message: “My parents worry so much about anything and everything, hate that I live alone, etc. I feel bad because I know it’s true. It was difficult for them, especially since I was an only child, and by them I mean, it was just a bit suffocating at times and a constant feeling of guilt.”

Lucy received 14 life sentences, one for each of the seven counts of murder and attempted murder against her. She will die in prison.
