‘Morrison Hotel’ is famous for its mysteriously burned doors in LA with homeless people inside

The Morrison Hotel burned down after being the location for one of rock music’s most iconic album covers.

On December 26, the hotel had a large fire that caused nearly 100 firefighters to fight the fire for two hours. New York Post Office report. This location served as the cover art for The Doors’ 1970 album named after the hotel.

The fire destroyed the roof of the building and it is now considered uninhabitable. After the fire broke out, several homeless people were seen fleeing the building and firefighters had to rescue three other homeless people from the blaze. However, this source said no one was injured in the fire.

According to Fox 11, investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire and whether homeless people living in the hotel may have started the fire.

The homeless population has been a problem for hotels for some time. The AIDS Healthcare Foundation purchased the hotel in 2022 for $12 million and intends to turn it into affordable housing.

“Last week when we cleaned the building, there were about 15 [homeless people inside] Mark Dyer talked about the organization with Fox 11.

“As soon as we secure the building, the homeless will use power tools within a few hours and simply cut the locks,” he added.

The hotel was previously used as low-income housing until 2008 and had no official residents for 10 years.

Business owner Juan Jose Gutierrez spoke to Fox 11 about the hotel.

“Personally, I have never witnessed such a large fire. [The affordable housing] would have been good for the community, but unfortunately the building is no longer there,” he said.
