Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord Update 1.2.8 Patch Notes, Improvements in Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord Update 1.2.8

“Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord”

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlords is an action-packed game that takes you into a world of strategy and role-playing adventure. It is produced by TaleWorlds Entertainment and Prime Matter.

The game actually predates Mount & Blade: Warband, which was an expanded version of the original 2008 Mount & Blade. Lords takes you back 210 years before Warband, and is inspired by an era called the Migration Period. There was a lot of movement and change going on around the world at that time.

This game has been in the works for a long time. The issue was first discussed back in 2012, and excitement grew when developers started sharing details about it in weekly diaries starting in 2015.

People got a taste of the game when it launched in Early Access on PC in 2020, and it became one of the biggest launches on Steam that year, with a huge number of players joining in from the start. Later, it was released on different platforms such as PlayStation and Xbox in 2022, allowing more people to join in the fun.

Improvements in Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlords Update 1.2.8

In the latest update, version 1.2.8 of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlords has made some useful improvements. For players who prefer the single-player mode, the update resolves some troubling crashes.

These crashes occur in different situations, such as when viewing settlement information, when joining a kingdom as a mercenary, or even when trying to sell hero prisoners from a caravan or a group of villagers. A fix also addresses a crash that occurs when exiting the game or trying to skip the intro video, which can be very frustrating for players.

Additionally, multiplayer mode is also getting attention in this update. A specific crash issue related to using the clan button in the GOG version has been resolved, ensuring a smoother multiplayer experience for those using the platform.

Additionally, there are some gameplay-related tweaks. Fixed a bug that caused lance-equipped cavalry to turn slower at high FPS. This fix should enhance the gaming experience for players participating in mounted combat, ensuring their movements remain consistent and responsive.

Additionally, for modders and creators modifying the game, a bug that prevented C# side assertions from appearing in mod kits has been resolved. This fix should help modders identify and resolve issues more efficiently when creating in the game.

“Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlords” gameplay

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlords offers an exciting gameplay experience that allows you to become a leader in a world full of action and strategy. You first gather a group of soldiers and then set out on a mission on a large map. When you’re on this map, you’re making big decisions about where to go and what to do, a bit like moving pieces on a game board. But when the fighting happens, things can get pretty intense! You jump into battle with your soldiers and fight the enemy on the ground.

The game wants you to think strategically, especially during sieges. You can build different machines for battle and decide where to place them before the big battle. This involves a lot of planning, such as figuring out the best way to attack enemy fortifications.

When you’re not fighting, the focus of the game is on the relationships between characters. You have to talk to other characters, try to convince them of what you want, and sometimes even negotiate or bargain with them. Also, a cool thing is that if your character has children and something happens to you in the game, one of your children can take over and continue your legacy.

While making this game, they made sure it looked much better than its predecessor, Mount & Blade: Warband. The graphics have been greatly upgraded, with improved shadows and more detailed character models. In order to make the characters’ movements more realistic, they used special motion capture technology and improved the faces to better express emotions.

They’ve also changed the way they introduce the game to us, starting sharing developer diaries every week, giving us a wealth of information about different parts of the game. In 2019, they hinted at a closed beta, but didn’t tell us when.

August 2019 was an important moment. TaleWorlds released a trailer and announced an early access version in March 2020. The game was officially launched on March 27, 2020. It will be released in October 2022 on different platforms such as PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
