Nambitha Ben Mazwi (born 1 December 1988) also known as LadyNam is a talented South African actress, businesswoman, television presenter and radio host.

She was born to South African parents and raised in the cities of the Eastern Cape. She became a film phenomenon by playing many roles in South African-related films and television series.

Early life

Nambitha Ben-Mazwi was born on December 1, 1988. Her parents taught her the benefits of humility and hard work.

Her uncle, the late Winston Ntshona (a stage actor who showcased his talents alongside Dr John Kani and many other stage masters) influenced her love of the arts during her formative years.

She was affectionately known as Nampo to her family and close friends. She joined the Eastern Cape Children’s Choir at the age of 12, which gave her the opportunity to travel around Europe with the choir. She also participated in musicals, where she sang and acted.

Education

Nambitha Ben-Mazwi completed her primary education in Port Elizabeth. She then attended Collegiate Girls’ High School. She continued her studies at Russell Road College in Port Elizabeth, where she obtained a degree in Business Management.

She eventually obtained a degree in Business Science from the University of Cape Town. She is very proud of her academic achievements.

Career

Nambitha Ben-Mazwi began her career at the University of Cape Town. She worked as an actress and broadcaster while a student at the Moonyeenn Lee Artists and Samantha Berhardi Artists.

As a broadcaster, she has won several awards, most notably as the MTN presenter for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. She has also fronted television commercials for corporations such as Tecno. She has appeared in Beyoncé’s music video and album Black is King.

Her acting career has been quite spectacular. She debuted in the television series, Doubt, where she played Unathi Mweli, which was her breakthrough role. Since then, she has gone on to star in a number of South African television shows such as Diamond City, Scandal!, Broken Vows and Netflix’s Black Mirror, among others.

She starred in BET’s hit drama series, Madiba (where she starred alongside famous American black actor Laurence Fishburne).

She was hired by Brandnew Marketing in Cape Town, South Africa as a Social Media Manager. She worked there for six months before joining Meltwater Group as a Business Strategist in 2012. She moved to New York and returned to South Africa in 2015.
