Early life
Natasha Akpoti was born on December 9, 1979 to Dr. Jimoh Abdul Akpoti and Ludmila Kravchenko. Her father is Nigerian and her mother is Ukrainian.
She hails from Obeiba-Ihima in Kogi State, Nigeria. She comes from Ebiraland, where her father is one of the influential figures in the place.
She has three siblings and is the second child in the family.
She spent her early years in Ihima, Okene Local Government. But she and her family moved to another city after her father’s death in 1998.

Natasha Akpoti received her First School Leaving Certificate and West African School Certificate from leading private primary and secondary schools in Kogi State.
In 2000, she enrolled in a Law degree program at the University of Abuja. She graduated with a BL degree in 2004.
She then studied at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja and was invited to the Bar in 2005.
She studied at the University of Dundee, UK and graduated with a Master’s degree in Law in 2012.
She also holds an MBA in Oil and Gas management from the University of Dundee.
Career
After graduating from the Nigerian Law School, Natasha Akpoti received an appointment with the law firm Brass NLG. She has worked at this company for 3 years (2007-2010).
She decided to contribute to society by founding a company, Building Hub Investment Program (BHIP).
In March 2018, she became the focus of national attention after presenting an investigation report to Congress. The report highlights the corrupt practices taking place at the Ajaokuta Steel Plant and reveals how government funds have been embezzled and misappropriated since the establishment of the plant.

Also in 2018, Natasha was the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Kogi Central Senatorial District. She lost the election to the APC candidate.
In 2019, she ran for Governor of Kogi State under the platform of SDP but lost to the Governor-elect, Yahaya Bello of APC.
