Neil Young changes his mind about withdrawing from Glastonbury after ‘Information Error’

Neil Young’s headlining headline at Glastonbury is back.

In another message posted to his website on January 3, Young shared that there had been an “error in information” that caused him to withdraw from the festival. However, he is now committed to playing again.

“Due to an error in the information received, I have decided not to attend the Glastonbury festival which I have always loved. Luckily the festival is now back on our itinerary and we are looking forward to attending! Hope to see you there!” he said before signing off with love.

Young previously shared that he would be pulling out of Glastonbury due to the BBC’s involvement with the festival.

“Chrome Hearts and I are looking forward to playing Glastonbury, one of my all-time favorite outdoor shows,” he said in a separate post.

“We are told that the BBC is now a partner of Glastonbury and wants us to do things in a way that we are not interested in. It seems that Glastonbury is now under corporate control and is not as I remember. Thanks Thank you for coming to see us one last time!” he continued.

Glastonbury will now retain Young as headliner and Young will join already confirmed headliner Rod Stewart. However, another headliner appears to have been confirmed with Chic member Nile Rodgers revealing that he will also be appearing at the festival during the Rolling Stone Awards.

“We’ll have a great time together. I don’t know anyone in his current band, but maybe we’ll get together. No matter what the world thinks, Rod Stewart and I, we really love each other. We’re actually pretty close,” Rodgers said about performing after Stewart, according to subway.

Young’s performance returns as the festival reports a doubling of profits by 2024. According to the BBC, profits increased from $3,594,915.05 to $7,313,792.69 from 2023 to 2024.
