Nicki Minaj Seems to Respond to Accusations Her Husband Can’t Go to the Park Because of His Sex Offender Status

Nicki Minaj is standing her ground and appears to be responding to accusations that her husband is not allowed near the children’s playground.

The “Super Freaky Girl” rapper took to her X account to share a photo of her and her husband, Kenneth Petty, at what appeared to be an indoor playground to celebrate their son’s fourth birthday , Papa Bear.

“They once gave everyone #fakenews so loudly and proudly that I thought my brain circuit was about to explode,” Minaj said in the post’s caption. However, you have to have a brain to be able to handle that.”

Minaj also shared another post, seemingly poking fun at the issue again.

“I let them run with one #hearsay for years just so I could have this GOOD GOOD laugh. I am kind of different. PETTY KANSAS CITY!!!!!!! TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT, DOLL DOLL!!!!!! Love you,” she captioned it.

A popular point of contention online is Petty’s ability to be around children following his past rape. Everybody reports that Petty was convicted of attempted rape in April 1995 for assaulting a 16-year-old girl. Following his conviction, he was sentenced to 18 to 54 months in prison and listed as a second-degree registered sex offender in the state of New York. In total, he spent four years in prison.

In December 2023, Cardi B, who famously feuded with Minaj for years, apparently jokingly told X not to take Petty to the park.

“Take your man to the park and leave me alone,” she said.

Fans react to Minaj’s apparent shade on Cardi B’s past comments.

“Watch MISS DIOR PETTY,” one comment read.

“You’re my kind of petty,” added another.

“You’re not wrong, Your Majesty,” another wrote.

You’re not wrong queen😂😂😂

Cardi B and Minaj’s feud began in 2017 when Cardi’s song “Bodak Yellow” topped the charts, something a Minaj solo song had not been able to do up to that point. While Cardi B and Minaj collaborated with Migos on the song “Motorsport”, there were rumors about what happened behind the scenes between the two.

Uproxx reported that Migos added Cardi without consulting Minaj and that Minaj’s verse was allegedly changed at the request of Cardi’s agency, causing further tension.

After that, things only heated up and even got tense when in September 2018, the couple met at New York Fashion Week and Cardi threw a shoe at Minaj. In response, Cardi was hit in the head by one of Minaj’s bodyguards. Since then, the couple has been secretly communicating with each other on social networks.

Cardi isn’t the only female rapper taking aim at Minaj because of her husband’s past accusations. Megan Thee Stallion seemingly dissed him in her No. 1 song, “Hiss,” reportedly in retaliation for Minaj’s song “Big Foot.”

In the song, she raps about Megan’s Law, which is a federal law that requires law enforcement to provide information about registered sex offenders.

“These h–don’t be mad at Megan, these h–be mad at Megan’s Law / I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee you all don’t want me to start,” Megan says in song.

Once again, Minaj and Megan have a musical history together and collaborated on the song “Hot Girl Summer” in 2019.

While it’s unclear exactly what caused the fallout, Megan added fuel to the fire when she appeared on Breakfast Club in reference to her song “Hiss”.

“I’m saying, a dog beat gon’ screaming. That’s it. Whoever can feel it, feel it,” Megan said.

Minaj refused to lie down and fought back against Megan.

“You mention 30 year old tea since this man was a 15 year old child. You mention 30 year old tea because no man will love you and lie above you to death” she said during an Instagram Live.
