Not everyone is here for the Taylor Swift era of Travis Kelce— style-wise, that is. Even though the Kansas City Chiefs player seems to be thriving in work and love, comedian Niecy Nash-Betts isn’t letting him get away with his “stupid mustache.”
The actress co-stars with the Super Bowl champion in Ryan Murphy’s production oddjoined Travis and his brother Jason Kelce on an episode of their podcast, New heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. During the interview, she made a cheeky comment about Kelce’s new look while settling in, commenting: “He tried to be professional as a football player and then appeared with that stupid mustache.”
Kelce did his best as the co-stars seemed to get along quite well. In fact, Kelce thanked Nash-Betts for keeping his relationship with Swift private. “Let me tell you about the people who texted me about Travis. They all started saying, you know, ‘We’re following it. Is he a killer?’ Just to help you – just so you get on the phone to page them and then they’re like, ‘Well, what do you know about his relationship?’ I thought, man, stop doing that man,” Nash-Betts shared as Kelce laughed. I didn’t say anything.”
Kelce responded with gratitude, commenting “I always appreciate you. And every time someone takes the mic in front of you, [they] always asking you things like that.” He continued: “Thank you for always showing love. You know it’s true and you know that Tay and I are completely happy. And I appreciate you always making sure everyone knows that. So thank you.”
But while Nash-Betts concluded that she was “mindful of my dark business,” Kelce is not such a private person. The athlete recently revealed the status of his relationship with the pop star, sharing that they are “happy” after a year of their highly publicized relationship.
The final episode of Kelce’s first scripted drama premieres Wednesday, October 30 on FX.
