Carol Denise Betts (born February 23, 1970), known professionally as Niecy Nash, is an American actress, comedian, and producer.
She began her career in the early 1990s as a backing dancer for the R&B group En Vogue. She made her film debut in the 1996 romantic comedy Hollywood Shuffle, which brought her critical acclaim.
Niecy Nash has since appeared in several films and television shows, including the 2003 comedy Malibu Most Wanted. She has also made guest appearances on several television shows, including The Masked Singers.

Early life and education
Niecy Nash was born and raised in Palmdale, California, United States, on February 23, 1970. Her mother, Margaret Ensley, is the founder of MAVIS, which stands for Mothers Against Violence In Schools. She has a younger brother named Michael Ensley, who was killed in the 1993 school shooting. Her father’s name is Sonny Ensley.
MAVIS was founded after Niecy Nash’s late brother, Michael Ensley, was killed in a school shooting. MAVIS’ mission is to inform the public about the violence children face on school campuses.
Niecy Nash attended and graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Currently, there are no details about his father’s whereabouts.
Personal life
Although Niecy Nash is bisexual, she was married to Don Nash, a Christian minister, for 13 years. The couple had three children: Dia Nash, Donielle Nash, and Dominic Nash, before their marriage was annulled in 2007.
Niecy Nash got engaged to Jay Tucker in September 2010. She appeared on a TLC reality show about wedding preparations.
They were married on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Church Estate Vineyard in Malibu. Niecy Nash announced her impending divorce from Jay Tucker via Instagram on October 30, 2019. The divorce was finalized on March 10, 2020. That same year, she announced that she was marrying Jessica Betts.

Career
Niecy Nash made her film debut in the 1995 film Boys on the Side. She later guest-starred on NYPD Blue, Judging Amy, Reba, Girlfriends, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and ER. She also appeared in the 1999 film Cookie’s Fortune and had a recurring role on the CBS television series City of Angels in 2000.
Niecy Nash played Deputy Sheriff Raineesha Williams and TT on the Comedy Central comedy series Reno 911! from 2003 to 2009. She was the host of Clean House on the Style Network from 2003 to 2010, as well as voicing Mrs. Boots on the ABC Family animated series Slacker Cats and playing Rhonda in the 2008 Fox comedy Do Not Disturb, opposite Jerry O’Connell.
She guest starred on The Bernie Mac Show as Bernie’s sister Bonita from 2003 to 2005. Niecy Nash won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2010 as producer/host of Clean House: The Messiest Home in the Country in the category of Outstanding Special Class. On August 4, 2010, Niecy Nash announced that she was leaving Clean House, but the show would continue without her.
Niecy Nash began starring in the TV Land comedy The Soul Man, a spin-off of Hot in Cleveland, opposite Cedric the Entertainer in 2012. In 2013, she began starring in the HBO comedy series Getting On alongside Laurie Metcalf.
She was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2015 and 2016 and the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2016.
Niecy Nash reprises her role as Deputy Raineesha Williams in the seventh season of Reno 911!, which aired on Quibi in 2020. She also appears in Reno 911! The Hunt for QAnon, a Paramount+ film in 2021. Reno 911! Defunded, the show’s eighth season, premiered on the Roku Channel in February 2022.
