Ntokozo Mbambo’s singing career came to fame through the platform her parents gave her, singing in the church worship team, which allowed people to see his vast and extraordinary talent.
At the young age of 15, she became the youngest member of the sensational gospel band “Joyous Celebration”. In 2001, Ntokozo Mbambo released her debut album “Bambelela” and has been rising rapidly in the music industry ever since.
In 2007, she recorded a live DVD/CD titled “Keep on Believing”, produced by Nqubeko Mbatha, who became her husband in May 2008. “Keep on Believing” was nominated for the Metro FM Best Gospel Album Award in 2007 and received three nominations at the 2008 Crown Gospel Music Awards.
Ntokozo Mbambo has opened for numerous well-known gospel musicians on tour in South Africa, such as Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin and Cece Winans. She has also performed abroad. Her recent tours have included the United States (Dr. Bill Winston Ministries), Ghana, Swaziland, Kenya, Botswana and the United Kingdom, all on invitation.
Her latest work is Filled, recorded at a sold-out Lyric Theatre concert in Johannesburg. The album won awards at the 2013 South African Music Awards, the 2012 and 2013 Crown Gospel Music Awards, and the 2013 African Gospel Music Awards in the UK. According to Universal Music, the album has gone double platinum in CD sales.
