The famous Nigerian artist, who is better known by his stage name Olamide or Olamide Baddo, is a singer, rapper and music executive.

early life

Olamide was born on March 15, 1989, in the family of Pa Adedeji. He comes from a polygamous family and his mother is the second wife of the family. He is the second child of his mother, Mrs. Ronke Osisanya Adedeji. He has two siblings, a brother named Eniola Olamilekan (professionally known as DJ Enimoney) and a sister named TemmyGold.

His parents named him Olamide Gbenga. He grew up with his siblings in the city center of Bariga, a city on the Lagos mainland. From his teenage years, Olamide showed an interest in music. This decision was made after he discovered his musical talent as he was good at writing rap songs. His first fans were his siblings and neighborhood friends, for whom he often performed.

Likewise, Olamide released his third album the following year. Titled Baddest Guy Ever Liveth, the album was released in November 2013. The album has a total of 13 tracks, 12 of which were produced by Pheelz, and features stars such as Ice Prince, Pepenazi, Viktoh, Phyno and Bez as guest artists.

The album won Album of the Year at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and included hit singles such as Eleda Mi O, Yemi My Lover, Durosoke and Turn Up. The album also won Best Rap Album and Album of the Year at The Headies Festival 2014.

The follow-up to Baddest Guy Ever Liveth, Street OT, was released on November 14, 2014. It is Olamide’s fourth studio album and the tracklist includes hit singles such as Story For The Gods and Goons Mi. Young John, Pheelz and B-Banks are a maverick sound production team who participated in the production of the album.

On November 23, 2015, Olamide released his fifth studio album titled Eyan Mayweather, which contains 21 tracks. The project has no featured artists. Earlier that year, in April, he collaborated with Igbo rapper Phyno on a project titled 2 Kings. The album was a joint project of Penthauze Music and YBNL Records.

Olamide collaborated with Pheelz, Phyno, Burna Boy, Davolee, Wande Coal for his sixth studio album titled The Glory. Pheelz produced the 16-track album which was released on December 23, 2016.

Between 2020 and 2021, Olamide released a nine-song EP titled 999, as well as two albums – Carpie Diem and UY Scuti.

999 was released on February 10, 2020, and was a surprise project that had not been previously announced to the public. Meanwhile, Carpie Diem was released on October 8, 2020, and consists of 12 tracks.

“UY Scuti”, inspired by Olamide’s son, was released on June 18, 2021. Olamide said he is about to release another album, which will be his last full-length work as an artist.

YBNL Nationality

Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) Nation Label is a free record label founded by Olamide Adedeji in 2012. The name is slang for a small guy who makes money without illegal trade. The label has signed many artists: Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Adekunle Gold, DJ Enimoney, Picazo, Temmie Ovwasa, and a few others including Fireboy DML. Although Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Lyta, Limerick, Picazo Rhap, Yomi Blaze and others have left, Fireboy DML and other artists are still under the label.

In 2016, the show won the City People Entertainment Award for Record of the Year.
