Olivia Rodrigo announced on Tuesday that she would be performing in the Philippines — marking her first show in the country — as part of her ‘GUTS’ world tour, but it was the ticket prices that surprised many in the best way possible. Rodrigo, who is part Filipino through her father’s side, announced that each ticket would cost just 1,500 Philippine Pesos, which is equivalent to just $26.67. All proceeds will also go to charity.

The move is a welcome change from the controversial spikes in concert ticket prices this year, most notably Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour which sparked an investigation into Live Nation and most recently the ticket prices for Oasis’ highly anticipated reunion tour which angered fans.

“I am so excited to be in the Philippines for the first time for the very special Silver Star Show of the GUTS world tour on October 5, presented by @AmericanExpress,” Rodrigo tweeted on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old singer will perform at the Philippine Arena, which has a capacity of 55,000 people. Fans took to social media to praise the singer.

“Olivia Rodrigo is playing to the biggest crowd of her home tour at the world’s largest indoor arena, and all proceeds are going to charity. This is crazy, no one else does it like her. I’m so, so proud 💜,” one user wrote.

Another X user tweeted asking people to let locals see her for cheaper tickets.

“This is a reminder that if you are not Filipino or not from neighboring countries, then DO NOT fly to Manila to see the show because the tickets are very cheap. Let the locals see her once,” the tweet read.

According to Live Nation Philippines, all proceeds from the show will go to Rodrigo’s Fund 4 Good, a global initiative committed to building a just and equitable future for all women, girls, and those seeking reproductive health freedom.
