Nikki Glaser devoured the opening monologue of the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, even though this was her first time hosting the much-anticipated awards show.
During the event at the Beverly Hilton, the stand-up comedian and first-ever solo female host took center stage to hurl sarcasm and off-color jokes at the celebrities in attendance. – not even Timothée Chalamet can escape her brutality.
“You have the best eyelashes on your upper lip,” Glaser said to Chalamet as she mocked his mustache. The actor sported facial hair at the ceremony in keeping with his film “A Complete Unknown,” a biopic about Bob Dylan.
Later in his monologue, Glaser mocked Selena Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco.
“She’s here tonight with her new fiance Benny Blanco,” Glaser said. “And Benny Blanco is here thanks to the genie who granted him that wish. Lucky guy.”
Predictably, the Ariana Grande- and Cynthia Erivo-led “Wicked” couldn’t escape Glaser’s jokes, and the comedian laughed: “I didn’t know much about ‘Wicked’ getting involved.” this problem because I had friends in high school but I loved it so much. My boyfriend loved it, my boyfriend’s boyfriend really loved ‘Wicked.’ It’s fun to see a musical in the theater.”
“Some theaters have problems with theaters,” she continued. Some people said it was destroyed because people were singing.”
On X (formerly Twitter), countless compliments poured in for Nikki Glaser, with many viewers saying she killed her speech.

I’d actually never heard of Nikki Glaser until tonight but I have to say, I’m very impressed with how naturally she hosted the Golden Globes. She’s funny without being offensive, mean, depressing, or rude. She’s the best non-celebrity host the Golden Globes have had in a LONG time.

Before Glaser finished her speech, she exclaimed and cheered for her final statement.
“I want to remind you, if you lose tonight, please remember that the purpose of creating art is not to win a prize. The purpose of creating art is to start a tequila brand so famous that you never have to make art.” again.”
