Pashto poet Mujib Zalmay ‘rejects’ obscene video as an AI hoax

MARDAN: Pashto poet and Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) supporter Mujib Zalmay has dismissed a viral porn video as fabricated, claiming it was artificially created by an adversary using AI technology to damage his reputation.

In a video statement shared on his social media account, Zalmay said he owned the “original, unedited footage” but did not disclose it due to Pashtun cultural values.

He also shared a screenshot of an individual currently in Mardan police custody, accusing him of sharing edited videos of him through AI technology.

In a separate video, the detained individual said: “I created pornographic video clips using AI.” He further explained that he acted out of personal hatred towards Zalmay, stating, “We had a family dispute and I saw this as an opportunity to tarnish his reputation.”

Zalmay warned that similar videos could be created against him in the future, highlighting the misuse of technology for defamation.

At the end of his video, Zalmay expressed gratitude to the Mardan police, especially DSP Ijaz Khan, for their quick action to arrest the accused.
