Patrick Leonard Sajdak (born October 26, 1946) is an American game show host and television personality.
He is best known for being the host of the American television game show Wheel of Fortune since 1981.
He is also praised for appearing on television screens for many years and continues to do so.

Early life
On October 26, 1946, Pat Sajak was born in Chicago, Illinois.
He was born to American parents; Leonard Anthony Sajdak and Joyce Backal.
He has two siblings, David Sajdak and William Backal.
He graduated from Farragut High School in 1964, where he was known as “Warm Apple Turnover,” according to a television episode that aired in May 2017.
He then attended Columbia College Chicago and worked as a receptionist at the Palmer House Hotel.
During the Vietnam War, he worked as a DJ for the US Forces Vietnam Network.
Within 14 months, Pat Sajak was hosting the same Dawn Buster radio show as Adrian Cronauer and he signed on to “Good Morning Vietnam!” like Cronauer.

Career
Pat Sajak won a contest on the Richard Biondi Show, which aired on WLS radio when he was a teenager. He was a teenage guest DJ on the show. His radio instructor, Al Parker, told him that WEDC, a local radio station, was looking for a news anchor while he was still in college. He applied for the job and was hired. He worked at the station from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m.
Pat Sajak worked as a DJ in the United States Army before entering the media industry. In 1968, he was drafted into the Army and stationed in Vietnam. During the Vietnam War, he worked for the American Forces Vietnam Network, where he hosted the Dawn Buster radio show.
He was signed to Good Morning Vietnam! for 14 months, the same as Adrian Cronauer. For a year in the early 1970s, the star worked as a DJ. He then worked for a radio station in Murray, Kentucky.
During this time, he also began DJing at WSM in Nashville. WSM aired daytime pop music at the time. He then worked at WSM-TV, WSM’s sister station. This was his first television appearance.
Media personality Pat Sajak began his career at WSM-TV as a voice-over artist. He hosted five-minute newscasts, did radio station identification, and served as a substitute weatherman. He befriended WSM-TV’s Dan Miller.
KNBC-TV needed a weatherman in Los Angeles in 1977. The right people noticed the news star and offered him the position. After he accepted the job, he was promoted to full-time weatherman at the station. Next, Pat Sajak was offered the job of hosting Wheel of Fortune in 1981.
Unfortunately, then NBC CEO Fred Silverman turned him down. Merv Griffin, who sympathized with Pat Sajak’s cause, kept Pat in the position. He was then offered the job.
He has been hosting the show since 1983. He set the Guinness World Record for the Longest Career as a Game Show Host of the same show when he returned for its 36th season. Pat Sajak has been the host of the game show for 35 years and 198 days as of May 8, 2019. He will continue to host the show until 2022.
Personal life
Pat Sajak is married to photographer Lesly Brown-Sajak and has two children: Patrick Michael James Sajak (born September 22, 1990) and Margaret Marie Sajak (born January 5, 1995). The couple splits their time between Severna Park, Maryland and Los Angeles, California.
He was married to Sherrill Sajak in 1979 but their marriage ended in 1986. There are many searches for his black wife and daughter but TheCityCeleb does not know why those search terms appear.
Pat Sajak joined the Golden Baseball League, an independent professional baseball league with teams in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Alberta, British Columbia, and Baja California, as an investor in 2005. During a special appearance in the broadcast booth during a spring training game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Boston Red Sox in March 2012, Pat Sajak admitted that he had previously commented on baseball games.
Pat Sajak appears in a short clip at the visitor center at Mount Vernon, George Washington’s home, where he discusses the attraction of the site to visitors. Pat Sajak owns the Annapolis, Maryland-based AM radio station WNAV (since 1998).
Pat Sajak has published numerous essays for Human Events, a conservative publication. He is a frequent contributor and podcaster on the conservative blog Ricochet.com. He has long been a climate change skeptic.
He also contributes to the Young America Foundation, an organization that sponsors conservative speakers on college campuses. Pat Sajak became president of the Hillsdale College board of trustees in 2019 after serving as vice president for 15 years.
Pat Sajak is a loyal supporter of the NHL’s Washington Capitals. He has been a season ticket holder for many years and was on the ice for Game 3 of the 2018 Stanley Cup Final.
On November 8, 2019, Pat Sajak underwent emergency bowel surgery to remove a blockage. Vanna White, Pat Sajak’s co-host, took over as host while he recovered.
Pat Sajak’s first day of incapacitation was during a weeklong Disney Christmas-themed episode in which Disney characters replaced White at the puzzle table. Sajak’s daughter, Maggie Sajak, also assisted White for a week.
